The BMW 02 Series, produced from 1966 to 1975, is one of the most iconic ranges in the German automaker’s history. The **BMW 2002**, introduced in 1968, is perhaps the most legendary model of the series. It came with a 2.0-liter engine and quickly gained popularity for its sporty feel and reliability. The 2002 ti and tii versions added mechanical fuel injection and improved performance, making the car a favorite among driving enthusiasts. In 1973, BMW introduced the **2002 Turbo**, one of the first production cars to feature a turbocharged engine in Europe. It was a bold and powerful machine, capable of 170 horsepower, and marked a milestone in automotive performance history.

The 02 Series was also known for its clean design, affordability, and practicality, making it accessible to a wide range of buyers. It played a key role in establishing BMW’s identity as a brand focused on the « ultimate driving machine. »

Production of the 02 Series ended in 1975, as BMW shifted focus to the newly developed 3 Series (E21). Nevertheless, the 02 models remain highly collectible today and are celebrated for their timeless design and driving pleasure.
